Directory Solutions, Inc. was started when Tracie Oken volunteered to publish the Family Directory for her children's elementary school. Seeing the cumbersome way the previous volunteers used spreadsheets and text documents, she knew there had to be a better way! She enlisted the expertise of her husband, Jay Oken, to build a database with the ability to generate reports. That’s when the “ah ha” moment hit. Talking to other schools, Tracie quickly realized they had something that other schools needed as well.
- Tracie’s background is in software development. She has 20 plus years experience developing software to manage complex material planning issues for large companies and the U.S. military. Prior to starting Directory Solutions, Inc., she was Product Manager for the maintenance, repair and overhaul solution for the Navy at Western Data Systems (WDS).
- Jay is a CPA by trade; he has spent his career consulting with companies on how to use technology to help eliminate mundane functions and streamline their businesses. He has built several systems, including a donation tracking system for a prominent non-profit organization.
Between Tracie, Jay and the development team, Directory Solutions, Inc. has over 60 plus years of experience in all aspects of the software development business. We are dedicated to building easy to use solutions that help parent associations manage their data. The end result is more efficient and improved communication between schools and homes.
